If you’ve ever used music in content on social media, you’ll have discovered copyright claims. These are usually from record labels, sometimes publishers, claiming that they have the rights to the music and that video is taken down, the music is muted, or that they are the ones who are able to monetise the video. What was originally designed as a way to make sure copyright wasn’t infringed has now got out of hand and is being used to harass musicians, organisations, and content creators.
